NEW HOMES IN WINCHBURGH... FULL OF GOOD THINGS

Robertson Homes has been awarded the prestigious title of Housebuilder of the Year (more than 100 homes) for the second consecutive year at the Scottish Home Awards 2024. At the same awards our Jacobson Garden Room managed to claim the prize of House of the Year – Read more here.

Exciting new development of 71 luxury 4, 5 & 6 bedroom detached homes coming soon to Winchburgh. The development is located on the Western edge of Winchburgh, just 12 miles west of the city of Edinburgh and 6 miles west of Edinburgh Airport. When complete, the masterplan will create at least 3,450 new homes which includes improved transport links, a mixed-use town centre and an 85-acre district park.

Winchburgh is well served for education with the village boasting state of the art offerings for both Primary and Secondary pupils. Three new schools have been built in what has been West Lothian’s biggest ever investment in education.

The development includes the creation of Auldcathie District Park, a brand new 85-acre district park. Reclaimed from a former landfill site, the park will include a café, community growing areas, woodland walks and play areas. The masterplan will also deliver three new neighbourhood parks.

It’s an exciting time to move here. The masterplan is to encourage communities to enjoy being more active, offering 160 acres of community woodland, landscaped green space and 8 miles of cycle paths. And the vision for the town centre is a modern hub for shopping, socialising and cultural events.

LIFE AT SHAWFAIR

From culture to sports to woodland walks, there’s something for the whole family to enjoy. You can look forward to shops, restaurants, markets, a swimming pool and art galleries. Not to mention essential amenities like health centres, libraries and schools. There’s Dalkeith Secondary School, Danderhall Primary School and Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh, with more educational facilities coming. School catchment areas are subject to change, please contact your local school directly for confirmation.

GETTING AROUND

However you like to travel, you’re within easy reach of cycle paths, Park and Ride routes, major road networks, trains and planes. Shawfair to Edinburgh Waverley is just a 15 minute train journey, Edinburgh Airport is just 20 minutes away and the Edinburgh City Bypass onto the A1 and M9 link roads take you as far north, or south, as you wish to go.

NEARBY & BEYOND

Shawfair is ideally positioned to enjoy lots of great days out. Local attractions include Dalkeith Country Park, with Fort Douglas Adventure Park for little ones and Go Ape for the more adventurous in your tribe. Explore Mary Queen of Scots’ former home at Craigmillar Castle, unearth the area’s rich mining history at the National Mining Museum, or simply relax and build sandcastles at the award-winning Portobello Beach. Anticipated as being the beating heart of the development at Lambton, Bowes Gate will be a thriving community hub with the facilities needed to service the housing and visitors to the estate.

The vision for Bowes Gate is to provide a traditional high street of around eight independent businesses which are expected to include a baker, delicatessen, butcher, grocer, estate farm shop, florist, pharmacy, convenience store and hairdresser/beauty salon.

HISTORY OF LAMBTON PARK

Lambton Park has been and continues to be managed as a modern estate enterprise with forestry, farming, residential properties and a business park all key to the fabric of the landscape.

A vital part of the Lambton family’s vision for the park is a future which combines conservation of its environment and preservation of its heritage, alongside retaining this diverse working estate, supporting a vibrant residential and business community at its heart.

In 2016, approval was given to re-develop Lambton Park and planning consent was granted for new homes, offices, retail and community space. Conservation works across the park, to restore the heritage assets including Lambton Castle, nearby stables and the iconic Lamb Bridge, will be funded by the development.

This exciting new development will offer an extraordinary opportunity for customers to become an integral part of a time-honoured tradition, the estate community, on a characteristically English country Estate.
