With three young children and busy working lives, Paul and his partner Natalie wanted the convenience of a new-build home when the time came for them to move.

Leaving Low Fell in Gateshead, the couple were eyeing a more rural village lifestyle to continue raising their family and Paul, a hotel manager in Newcastle and Natalie, who works in transport sales in Team Valley, were drawn to Burnopfield in County Durham, where the excellent reputation of both the local primary and secondary schools appealed.

Having found Robertson Homes’ Bowes Manor development and falling for the five-bedroom Linton Garden Room housetype, the icing on the cake was a part-exchange deal, meaning the family’s move was guaranteed to be quick and smooth.

Paul explains: “This is our third new build property as we love the convenience of moving in and not having to start doing expensive and time-consuming refurbishments.

“Being a peaceful, semi-rural area and in the catchment area for two great schools appealed to us and the part exchange deal Robertson Homes offered us meant this move was so easy. There was no risk of the chain falling through and it meant we could secure the house we really wanted quickly and comfortably, knowing there wouldn’t be any work required once we moved in.”

The Linton Garden Room is a five-bed detached home offering 1,946sq.ft of living space and an integrated double garage. The property features Robertson Homes’ signature statement garden room with cathedral window and vaulted ceiling, offering access to the sizeable garden through French doors.

“The house has been finished to a really high standard and is a great size with the open plan designer kitchen and dining area feeling particularly spacious” explains Paul.

“The garden room is a great way to link the inside and outside of the house and it’s a versatile space which can be used in many different ways. It is a well-thought-out property that has a really nice feel and offered excellent value for money.”

Having now lived in three new-build homes, Paul and Natalie are well placed to compare the experiences of different housebuilders.

“This move has been completely different from our experience of other developers” says Paul. We were looked after really well by Marie, Robertson Homes’ sales executive, and all of the site and construction teams have always been there if we need them.

“We can’t fault the service in any way and being one of the first families to move into Bowes Manor, we’re looking forward to the community growing and enjoying our first summer here next year in our new village home.”
