Residents at our Calderwood development of new homes in East Calder came together for a festive lights switch-on and enjoyed mulled wine and mince pies as Christmas arrived in West Lothian.

Supported by a donation from Robertson Homes , the new neighbours joined together around two Christmas trees, to sing carols on Bruce Way before walking over to Buchan Square for festive refreshments and music.

Niamh, one of the residents who organised the event said: “My family chose to move to Calderwood because we loved the designs on offer from Robertson Homes, and we’ve found that the community that’s grown around us is what makes living here truly special.

“We had a big street party in the summer, and we really wanted to bring everyone together again to celebrate the festive season. We are so grateful to Roberson Homes for the support with this event. Their support means we’ve been able to invest in decorations and tree stands which means this will hopefully be the first of many holiday get-togethers with our neighbours!”

Karen Mercer, Robertson Homes’ sales manager, added: “It’s lovely to see the community spirit flourishing at Calderwood. I want to say thank you to our neighbours and friends for organising such a lovely event which everyone thoroughly enjoyed.

“Same time next year?!”

There is just one home remaining for sale at Calderwood, the five-bedroom Everett Grand, before the sold out signs go up at this remarkable development.
