LOCATION AND LOCAL AREA

LIFE IN WYNYARD

Wynyard Woods is located on the western edge of the highly sought-after Wynyard Estate. It's a great location just five miles north of Stockton-on-Tees and Middlesbrough. The village centre is within short walking distance for access to amenities for everyday essentials.

Locally there is great community feel with all of the amenities you'll need on your doorstep. This includes a Co-op convenience store, dentist, pharmacy, hair salon, pubs and restaurants.

There are currently five excellent primary schools within the catchment area. These include Wynyard Primary School, St Paul’s Catholic Primary School, Prior’s Mill Church of England Primary School, Wolviston Primary School and Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Academy Primary, of which four have an outstanding OFTSED rating. There's also a secondary school and two private schools within the catchment area. Further education options are available slightly further afield at the five regional universities Teesside, Newcastle, Northumbria, Durham and Sunderland.

There are a range of amenities at the Thorpe Thewles end of Wynyard Woodland Park. The old station house has been transformed into a tearoom. For families there is a large play area and picnic area. There's also a planetarium and observatory, operated by Teesside Astronomical Science Centre.

GETTING AROUND

The development has excellent transport links with easy access to both the A19 and A1(M) motorways, making it an ideal location for commuting professionals.

The East Coast Main Line, linking Newcastle and Edinburgh, is particularly convenient from Darlington station. It also enjoys regular cross-country services to Leeds, Manchester, Liverpool, and Birmingham.

Durham Tees Valley Airport is a 25-minute drive from Wynyard Woods. It offers specialist oil and gas industry routes to Scotland and Norway, as well as internal UK and European hub destinations. Newcastle International Airport is a 45-minute drive and is well connected to international hubs such as Paris, London, Amsterdam, Brussels, and Dubai.

The University Hospital of North Tees is just a 15-minute drive from Wynyard Woods. It provides quick access to a full range of medical services and emergency care. For those working at the hospital, it offers a convenient and short daily commute.
