Robertson Team in the Zone for Basketball Foundation Support

A team of volunteers from our North East England regional headquarters in Gateshead spent two days sprucing up the home of Newcastle Eagles Basketball Club ahead of the start of their new season.

As part of our annual ‘Days to Make a Difference’ initiative, our volunteers rolled up their sleeves and, with the help of contractors Paul Bertram Painting & Decorating, gave the Vertu Motors Arena a fresh lick of paint.

The arena is owned and operated by the Eagles Community Foundation, a charity set up to help create a basketball player pathway for all, enhance participation and performance, support coach and volunteer development and create education opportunities.

Wes English, Land Director at Robertson Homes, said: “We have supported the Eagles Foundation for some time having been impressed with their efforts to grow levels of sustainable basketball participation, especially for young people.

“It is great to see the Vertu Motors Arena getting busier with increasing attendances for Eagles matches and all-time high levels of community use so it was a pleasure to play our part in helping to make it look spick and span ready for a successful new season.”

A spokesperson for the Eagles Community Foundation, said: “A huge thank you to Robertson Homes for their continued support and their incredible help in getting the arena ready for the 2024/25 Super League Basketball season and a packed calendar of the Foundation’s junior club activity.”

To mark our ongoing support of the Newcastle Eagles Foundation, we have recently launched an exclusive referral reward scheme for Newcastle Eagles supporters who have the opportunity to receive £1,000 by referring someone who goes on to purchase a home at our Bowes Manor, Lionfields or Wynyard Woods new homes developments.
