Chris Thornton, our site manager on our Bowes Manor development in Burnopfield, County Durham, has been awarded the prestigious NHBC Seal Of Excellence for his outstanding work and consistent high standards in the delivery of new homes.
The award is part of the NHBC’s Pride in the Job Awards 2023. From an initial pool of around 8,000 site managers across the UK, candidates were assessed across every aspect of site management and construction to determine best practices in the field. Only 20 site managers from the North East were awarded the Seal of Excellence.
The Seal of Excellence is the second award for Chris this year, having earlier been one of only 443 site managers nationally to be given an NHBC Quality Award.
Chris said: “It’s an honour to be awarded the NHBC Seal of Excellence which reflects the highest levels of quality of the new homes we are building in Burnopfield and the dedication and skills of the whole Robertson Homes team at Bowes Manor.
“I would like to thank my colleagues and our exceptional team of suppliers and contractors for helping to make this such a desirable and welcoming community.”
Andy Dodds, regional director of Robertson Homes North East, said: “To be awarded the Seal of Excellence is recognition of Chris’s consistency and relentless pursuit of building quality.
“It is inspiring to the whole team and our customers will be delighted their homes are being built by such a skilled and committed team under Chris’s leadership.”
Steve Wood, CEO at NHBC added: “Pride in the Job is firmly at the heart of NHBC’s mission to raise standards in the housing industry. It is important we recognise the vital role site managers play in ensuring new homes are delivered on time, on safe sites and to exacting construction quality standards. This accolade recognises and celebrates how much Chris has inspired his team by going the extra mile to deliver homes of the highest quality.”
