Two talented young gymnasts from Hamilton Gymnastics Club in South Lanarkshire have celebrated international call ups with a sponsorship deal from Robertson Homes.
Jack McKane-Morrow (11) from Hamilton has been a training gymnast since the age of five and has been selected as the youngest member of the British squad. Jack will also represent Scotland at the National Finals in October 2023.
Daniel Sabba (18) from Barrhead who, like Jack, trains six times a week at the club on Blantyre Industrial Estate, has been called up for the Scotland squad at the Northern European Championships to be held in Sweden in November 2023 and is aiming to represent Great Britain in the 2026 Commonwealth Games.
Both Daniel and Jack were recently invited to our’ Hamilton Heights development of new homes in Hamilton to receive a £500 sponsorship boost to support their success.
Jack said: “Being able to go to training squads, and competitions is really fun, but I know it can cost a lot of money to get me to these things. The funding from Robertson Homes is going to help me be the best gymnast I can be!"
Daniel added: “I’m really thankful for the support from Robertson Homes. It is really beneficial, especially in my build up to the Northern European Championships in Sweden in November, and also moving forwards into Commonwealth Selection.”
Hamilton Gymnastics Club coach, Shona Grigor, said: “Both Daniel and Jack are committed to achieving their international ambitions in gymnastics and this means dedicating a great deal of time and effort to their training.
“Thank you to Robertson Homes for supporting both these athletes with sponsorship that will help towards travel expenses of attending international training and events the length of the UK and will make a real difference as their exciting careers progress.”
