Robertson Adds Support for Ava's Charity Fundraiser

Robertson Homes donated helicopter pilot lessons and a speedboat trip on Loch Lomond to a fundraising event for Glasgow Children’s Hospital and the Little Hearts Matter charity.

The event, to be held on 26 February at Fallin Miners Welfare Club on Main Street, Fallin,  has been organised by the parents of four-year-old Ava Alexander from Stirling who has been diagnosed with a congenital heart condition called hypoplastic left heart syndrome.

Ava has undergone numerous treatments and open heart surgeries since birth and parents Laura and David Alexander now want to raise funds to support both the cardiac ward at Glasgow Children’s Hospital and the Little Hearts Matter charity which supports people with single ventricle heart conditions.

Laura Alexander said: “Ava is a remarkable little girl and has overcome so much in her short life so far. She brings so much joy and we don’t allow her condition to limit what she does.

“We now want to repay those who have helped us throughout our journey with Ava and have decided to host a charity night in aid of the cardiac ward 1e in Glasgow Children’s Hospital as well as Little Hearts Matter who have given medical care advice and support to us when we needed it the most.”

Along with a raffle and auction, the event will feature bingo, a singer and a DJ.

Jenni Tamlin, Robertson Homes’ marketing manager, said: “We were moved by the bravery of little Ava and we are pleased to support this event which will raise funds for a charity and a hospital that do such fantastic work for young people and their families.”
