Robertson Homes made a £250 donation to support Dunbar RNLI in East Lothian following a fun competition in our Newton Manor show home.
We hid miniature toy lifeboats around our four-bedroom Jacobson show home and pledged a donation to the RNLI for everyone who correctly located each boat.
From all the correct entries, Dunbar Primary School pupil, Liam Waterston (6), was the lucky winner of a guided tour of Dunbar Lifeboat Station.
Karen Mercer, sales manager at Robertson Homes said: “Everybody in Dunbar knows the importance of the service the local RNLI provides to the community and with the station only one mile from our Newton Manor development, we were keen to support the amazing job they do.
“We’re so pleased Liam had a great day learning about the lifeboats and their volunteer crews.”
Gary Fairbairn, Dunbar RNLI Coxswain, said: “A big thank you to Robertson Homes for choosing the RNLI as the charity to support on launching their new development.
“We rely on donations from the local community so we are delighted Robertson Homes has created such an enjoyable way to raise funds for the RNLI. We hope many more residents from the Newton Manor development will come and visit us at the station to gain an understanding of the work we do and how they can get involved in supporting their local RNLI station.”
Liam’s father, Robert Waterston, added: “We bought our new home at Newton Manor and visited the show home to get some inspiration for our own property.
“It was a nice surprise for Liam to find there was a fun competition to find hidden boats and he was so excited to go and see the real boat in the station.”
Robertson Homes is building 86 luxury, 3, 4, 5 and 6-bedroom homes at Newton Manor and recently invited Masterchef: The Professionals winner and Scotland’s National Chef, Gary Maclean, to officially open the two new show homes.
