WELCOME TO FAIR ACRESStylish living on the East Lothian coastline
Stylish living in a location you’ll love
Dunbar is a charming town on a beautiful stretch of the East Lothian coastline, popular for its easy commute to Edinburgh. Many pleasant beaches are nearby, as is the inland countryside with the Lammermuir Hills and the Scottish Borders within easy reach.
Over the course of many centuries during its early history, Dunbar was at the heart of power struggles between Picts, Romans, Vikings, Scots, English and Northumbrians. In more peaceful Edwardian times, it became known as the “bright and breezy burgh” – a thriving hub of fishing and farming, and a sunny spot for seaside holidays and golfing breaks.
Dunbar is also the birthplace of famous explorer and conservationist John Muir, a fact that is celebrated in the town’s Interpretive Centre and Country Park.
A new development of award-winning homes
Into this inviting setting, we are introducing Fair Acres; a new development of 90 stylish homes from our Boutique collection, including three, four and five-bedroom semi-detached and detached homes. The development itself is in a semi-rural location at Bowmont Terrace, close to Dunbar Golf Club and the town’s many amenities.
Highly regarded primary and secondary schools are found in Dunbar, as is a busy high street with restaurants, shops and traditional stone buildings. The A1 grants easy access to the city of Edinburgh and the airport, and the local train station provides a regular service to the capital.
There is plenty to do for families at any time of year, including excellent facilities for rugby, football and swimming, and the East Links Family Park with its wildlife and narrow-gauge railway.
Generous specifications and trusted brands
Built with minute attention to detail and the experience gained through the Robertson Group’s 50 years of house-building, our homes have bright, spacious rooms in layouts that are practical and modern.
The kitchens have fully integrated Siemens appliances, while bathrooms feature sleek sanitaryware by Villeroy & Boch, with full-height, chrome-edged Porcelanosa tiling. Luxurious taps and mixers from Hansgrohe are also included, as is their indulgent Raindance shower.
To add to your peace of mind, an alarm system, smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, and an 1800mm gated timber fence are fitted as standard. Internal doors and woodwork have a high-quality, contemporary ‘mist grey’ finish.
These features all add up to create a stylish, warm and secure home that’s a joy to live in.

Dunbar Grammar's new £10m extension should be ready by August '18
Dunbar Grammar School is to be extended to accommodate 350 extra pupils.
Dunbar’s growing population means Dunbar Grammar has to be able to open its doors to many new pupils. By August 2018, the new campus extension will allow the school to cater for 1199 pupils, an increase of 350 places.
Phase One of the project involved expansion of the pupils’ Social Space and the provision of a classroom sized temporary modular unit at a cost of £380,000.00 and was completed in August 2016.
Phase Two represents a major expansion of the school, comprising the building of a large two-storey extension to the east, providing new-build teaching and ancillary accommodation, significant alterations to various areas within the existing school, a new all-weather pitch, and associated external works.
Phase Two of the works will be delivered through Innovate and will include funding from developers’ contributions gathered as a result of the additional houses that have been built in the area.
Planning and Environment spokesperson Councillor Norman Hampshire said:
“This is fantastic news for Dunbar and for the Grammar. We have welcomed development in the town and we have a growing and thriving community. Dunbar Grammar is at the very heart of our community and this expansion will mean that it is fit for purpose and ready to give all our young people from Dunbar and the Dunbar catchment a great education and a really good start in life.”
