Robertson Homes may have uncovered the next generation of TV property celebrities following a competition at a primary school in south Glasgow.

We challenged students at Maidenhill Primary School in Newton Mearns to review our stunning six-bedroom Stewart Garden Room show home at our Southfield Grange development.

Such was the quality of entries, we invited some of the students along to the development to produce their own videos and give a guided tour of the property.

Julie Henderson, Robertson Homes’ sales manager, said: “The videos are absolutely brilliant and capture everything you want to feel and hear about our homes.

“The children not only managed to pick out many of the practical qualities of the show home, they also demonstrated their understanding of what really makes a house a home and included some emotive and persuasive work which showcased Maidenhill and Newton Mearns as a great area to live.

Sophie McKendrick, class teacher at Maidenhill Primary School said: “Robertson Homes asked our children to do some research into their new development off Ayr Road and gave them a rare opportunity to produce some writing for a real audience.

“The children showed how they can structure their writing to be both informative and convincing and it is so exciting they were able to help create a promotional film. They had a fantastic time making the videos.”

You can view the tour of the Stewart Garden Room here and also watch some of the children reading their work here.

Robertson Homes offered £130 in prizes for the best submissions with Alishba Mohammed and Eva Nixon scooping joint first prize. The developer also donated £300 towards school funds as a thank you for everyone taking part.
