For a century, the local community in East Calder have come together once a year to celebrate Gala Week and we were delighted to make a donation to support this year’s festivities.
The gala week was planning to celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2020, but due to pandemic restrictions was not able to go ahead in 2020 and 2021.
The centenary celebrations this year culminate on Saturday 11 June with Gala Day, which involves face painters, inflatables, pony rides, a magic show, fun races, and other activities.
There’s even a music festival as a grand finale to the event – Music on the Muddies – promising to showcase local bands.
Karen Mercer, Robertson Homes sales manager, said; “The team of volunteers work incredibly hard to organise a brilliant week and we were pleased to make a donation to support this year’s event.
“We hope lots of our new residents at Calderwood will enjoy Gala Day which is just one of the things which make East Calder a great place to live.
“There is such a great community vibe, both on our new development and the town as a whole which always makes Gala Day such a great success.”
