Help to Buy (England)

 

Help to Buy Equity Loan is a government initiative allowing both first time buyers and existing homeowners financial support to buy a new home.

  • Just 5% deposit is required
  • Loan of up to 20% of the value of the new property
  • Available on new homes up to £600,000
  • Available to both first-time buyers and existing homeowners (if you have a home to sell, we can help)
  • Only available for new build homes

 

Only available until March 2021.

After March 2021

 

The scheme will change:

  • Only available to first time buyers
  • Available on new homes up to £186,000
  • Just 5% deposit is required
  • Loan of up to 20% of the value of the new property
  • Available only to both first-time buyers
  • Only available for new build homes

Help to Buy (Scotland)

 

Help to Buy in Scotland comprises two schemes which allows both first time buyers and existing homeowners financial support to buy a new home.

 

  • Just 5% deposit is required
  • Loan of up to 15% of the value of the new property
  • Available on new homes up to £200,000
  • Available to both first-time buyers and existing homeowners
  • Only available for new build homes

  • 5% deposit required: £50,000
  • 20% Help to Buy loan: £100,000
  • 75% mortgage required: £375,000

Help to Buy (Scotland)

Cost breakdown on a £200,000 home
  • 5% deposit required: £10,000
  • 15% Help to Buy loan: £30,000
  • 80% mortgage required: £160,000

4 Simple Steps to Help to Buy

1.

Buyer has offer accepted on a property or reserves a plot with Robertson Homes.

2.

Buyer/IFA submits application to Admin Agent. Admin Agent completes sustainability checks and that application meets criteria.

3.

If application is approved, an Award Letter is issued. Standing Instructions & Sales Log Form are issued to buyer’s solicitor.

Buyer’s solicitor completes title and property check. IFA/Mortgage Adviser prepares full mortgage application. Property valuation sent to Admin Agent.

Buyer’s solicitor concludes missives and confirms to Admin Agent.

4.

Help to Buy solicitors issue legal documentation to buyer’s solicitor.

Buyer’s solicitor arranges for Standard Security and Ranking Agreement to be signed.

Buyer’s solicitor sends Certificate of Title to Admin agent.
