Live In Elgin
Dating back to the 1200s, Elgin Cathedral was once known as the Lantern of the North. Having survived the ravages of the infamous ‘Wolf of Badenoch’ in 1390, the historic structure now forms a rich backdrop for contemporary shopping, leisure and entertainment venues, alongside the colonnade of St Giles and Elgin’s wide, pedestrian High Street. The area is also famous as the home of world-renowned whisky, cashmere and shortbread brands.
A thriving community
The town offers plenty of opportunities for fresh air and exercise, with a riverside walk, leisure centre, playing fields and tennis courts. The nearby fishing town of Lossiemouth has a stunning beach where golden sands meet the Moray Firth. Elgin has ten primary schools and two secondary schools, all with an excellent reputation.
With Inverness to the West and Aberdeen to the East, Elgin is well connected via road, rail and air. The town is situated on the A96, while Inverness Airport is only 40 minutes’ drive away.
