Home to... Kilmardinny Gait, Bearsden

70 Luxury 4, 5 & 6 bedroom homes

Bearsden has been one of the most prestigious places to live in the Glasgow area since the 1860s when the coming of the railway made access to the city fast and convenient. Loch-side Kilmardinny is on the north-east edge of the town, just a five-minute drive (or a pleasant walk) from two railway stations and Bearsden Cross.

The earliest known settlement at Bearsden is a Roman fort, built in the second century. The well-preserved remains of its bathhouse and several stretches of the Antonine Wall can still be seen nearby. Today the Conservation Area of Old Bearsden includes a wealth of interesting independent businesses, while national retailers like Waitrose and Marks & Spencer are present in or near the town.

A thriving and friendly community, Bearsden and neighbouring Milngavie offer lots of opportunities for sport, the arts and socialising. Several gyms, golf clubs and a dry-slope ski club are nearby, while Bearsden Cross has a number of welcoming cafés, pubs and restaurants.

  • They made sure I was happy with everything and didn't make me feel rushed. We looked at a number of properties but the quality of this home was superior.
