Development Information

AT Winchburgh, West Lothian

Family is... a new home at Glendevon Grange

Robertson Homes was a finalist for Housebuilder of the Year (More than 100 units) at the prestigious Scottish Home Awards 2021.

New exclusive development of fifty-three 4, 5 & 6 bedroom homes for sale in Winchburgh. The development at Winchburgh is one of the largest and most exciting placemaking projects currently underway in the UK. The development encircles the historic village of Winchburgh in West Lothian, located 12 miles west of Edinburgh and seven miles from Edinburgh Airport. When complete, the masterplan will create at least 3,800 new homes.

In addition to the expansion of two existing primary schools, the wider master plan for Winchburgh includes the creation and delivery of new state-of the-art primary and secondary schools.

Improved transport links will ensure that Winchburgh is better connected to West Lothian, Edinburgh and beyond, and includes further rail, road, park and ride, canal, pedestrian and cycle access routes. This will include a new motorway junction on the M9 to improve road links and ease congestion. Discussions are ongoing to expand and enhance the local bus network and to introduce a rail station.

A brand-new marina and moorings on the historic Union Canal to the east of the new town centre will provide a range of leisure activities for Winchburgh residents and visitors. The development includes the creation of Auldcathie District Park, a brand new 85-acre district park. Reclaimed from a former landfill site, the park will include a café, community growing areas, woodland walks and play areas. The masterplan will also deliver three new neighbourhood parks.

At Robertson Homes, you’ll discover homes expertly built with an elegant design and clever layout to maximise space and natural light. Inside you’ll find the open plan living spaces Robertson Homes is famed for, as well as our spectacular garden rooms with cathedral style windows, a place that allows you to bring the outside in and offers the perfect place to play, entertain and relax. We believe it’s the small details that make the difference and our homes come equipped with a desirable and trusted brand as standard.

"Have to say from the first phone call with George, its been a pleasure. His advice and assistance during the selection of kitchen, flooring etc has been spot on." Gordon Martin Nov 21

Community and local area

Life in and around Glendevon Grange

Just outside Scotland’s vibrant capital and surrounded by charming, historic towns, the village of Winchburgh combines the attractions of the community with easy access to a wealth of work, school and leisure opportunities.

Nearby sits Niddry Castle which once played host to Mary, Queen of Scots. The Union Canal which links Edinburgh to the Falkirk Wheel, passes through the village. It has been revived in recent years and now provides a green route for walkers and cyclists with children’s playgrounds and picnic areas also being developed.

The village of Winchburgh has all you could want in a small community - including shops, pubs and restaurants, and a GP surgery – all within easy walking distance of Glendevon Grange.

Just a 30 minute drive away, Edinburgh regularly features on international lists as one of the best cities in the world for quality of life. With its famous festivals, museums and galleries, stunning architecture and exceptional dining, the city’s attractions are irresistible.

There’s more to this part of the world than the city, however, with charming towns like Linlithgow and South Queensferry minutes away, and the Kingdom of Fife just over the bridges. For additional shopping and leisure facilities, nearby Livingston offers two major retail centres, a large cinema complex, cafes, restaurants, bars and an indoor golf centre.

Top rated schools

Winchburgh village has two existing primary schools – Winchburgh Primary and Holy Family Primary – and there are plans for at least two more. Two new secondary schools will be built on a shared campus on the western edge of the village. The village is also within the catchment area of the well-regarded Linlithgow Academy, which is just six miles away. A number of university and college campuses are within easy reach, and the area is well served by independent nurseries.

Transport links

If you’re commuting into Edinburgh, Glendevon Grange is just 12 miles from the centre. Stations at Uphall, Dalmeny and North Queensferry have fast and frequent trains to the city, and Ingliston Park and Ride provides a traffic-beating tram link. The wider masterplan for Winchburgh includes a new rail station to serve the village.

Frequent bus services connect with Linlithgow, Falkirk and other towns. The nearby M9 takes you to the Queensferry Crossing and Fife in a few minutes, while the M8 is less than ten minutes away. Plans are also underway for a new motorway junction on the M9 improving links locally and to Edinburgh, Glasgow and beyond.
