A richly historical spot surrounded by ancient woodland

Chatelherault Mill, in the hamlet of Ferniegair near Hamilton, is a peaceful spot surrounded by ancient woodland. Deeply rooted in history, the name is derived from the French town of Châtellerault, with the title of Duc de Châtellerault being held by the Duke of Hamilton. The river Avon runs nearby, with weirs and high-arched bridges spanning its flow.

With this stunning landscape as a backdrop, we are pleased to have introduced a development of 79 three, four and five-bedroom detached homes within the historic grounds of Chatelherault Country Park.

Living in Ferniegair

Adjacent to Hamilton golf club, our Chatelherault Mill development offers the best of both worlds to families looking for a countryside lifestyle that is close to the convenient amenities of a modern town.

Getting around

The development is centrally located within walking distance of Chatelherault railway station, with the M74 less than three miles away for those travelling further afield. Good nurseries, schools and colleges are to be found in nearby Hamilton, as is a comprehensive range of shopping, sports and leisure facilities.

Historical splendour in a natural setting

This is also the setting of Chatelherault Country Park; a five-star visitor attraction with formal gardens surrounding a restored hunting lodge and summerhouse, built in in 1732 for the Dukes of Hamilton and now managed by South Lanarkshire Council. Winding through the park are over 10 miles of beautiful walks and cycle trails that follow the course of the river from Hamilton to Larkhall.

  • They made sure I was happy with everything and didn't make me feel rushed. We looked at a number of properties but the quality of this home was superior.

  • I was really surprised and delighted by the attention to detail! The weight of the doors, height of the skirting boards, floor to ceiling heights, just luxury.

    Alan McCrae, Hepburn Gate, Bothwell

  • We are just chuffed to bits with them. We have recommended our old neighbours and they have put a deposit down already.

  • The site manager has been really attentive towards anything we need. The quality of the finishings in terms of the fittings and fixtures is impressive.
