Ayr Children Name New Village Green
Pupils at Heathfield Primary School will enjoy brand new play equipment courtesy of Robertson Homes as a thank you for their creative input into naming the local village green.
The award winning housebuilder asked pupils to suggest names for the new green space at Kings Park, Ayr, and was inundated with excellent ideas and drawings.
The winning name, Heathfield Green, was suggested by Aidan Mansell from Primary 6.
Mairi Raeburn, Principal Teacher at Heathfield Primary School, said: The pupils had a great time thinking about the local area and coming up with entries for the competition.
“Without a doubt, the space will be well used by the children and their families. They will take great pride in knowing that one of their classmates named the village green.
“We are very grateful to the team at Robertson Homes for their generosity. The new equipment is a very welcome addition to the school’s playground and will be well used.

Melissa Burns, Sales and Marketing Manager at Robertson Homes said: “We are always keen to work with the local community, and this project presented the perfect opportunity.
“We approached Heathfield Primary School about running a competition as we had not yet found a fitting name for the village green which features at the centre of the Kings Park development.
We loved ‘Heathfield Green’ because of its link with the school and the local people.”
Robertson Homes is currently marketing properties at Kings Park which last year won ‘Best Luxury Show Home’ at the 2011 Herald Property Awards.
The next phase of development at the site has also been launched and a brand new show home displaying the latest Boutique homes offering will launch in September.
